We made clay Christmas decorations. Here we are holding them up. The decorations are in shapes of different symbols associated with Christmas ; sleighs, Christmas trees, stockings, angels, candy canes, Santa hats, gloves, stars and many more. Ms Stokes has organised a crib display in the P.E. hall in our school. Some children from room 12 made cribs for the display. We really enjoyed looking at them and identifying what materials they used for their cribs. Well done to all involved! They are great :) We are learning to give instructions. Can you remember what kinds of verbs we use? Today we read a story about a snowman. Can you remember the seven details on the snowman .... Here is some help! We worked on giving instructions on 'How to build a Snowman'. First we decided on the materials we would need to build a snowman. Finally we listed our instructions. We made our Christmas decorations today. We used robin, pudding and christmas tree templates. We decorated them with bright colours and glitter. Have a look! Next week we are starting 'Shared Reading' in our classroom. We are going to work in pairs and read books together. We will then ask each other questions and write about the book. We revising our 5 W's and 1 H this week to prepare. List your six question words now before looking at the picture! We asked each other questions today about our Sails Books. Today was very exciting. We designed, decorated and put up our class Christmas tree. Everybody in Room 12 helped. The result was great! Can you put the words around our tree into sentences? Can you list the materials we used? Can you list the instructions for how we made the Christmas tree? Post your answers as a comment. Today we painted trees. We remembered that trees lost their leave in Autumn so now they are bare. We used cotton wool for snow and some silver glitter for rain. We think they look great! Please have a look! We are working on positional language this week. Can you remember the words we use to describe where things are? We drew Christmas scenes while listening to teacher's instructions. Have a look at the pictures below and describe where everything is in the pictures. "Santa is peeking out from behind the colourfully decorated Christmas tree". |
